Investment Manager, Venture Capital
Rebecca started her career in 2004 at Ernst and Young (EY) in London where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. During her 4 years at EY she gained experience in investment management audit, corporate restructuring as well as valuations and business modelling. Looking for something more entrepreneurial, and following her passion for property, Rebecca decided to join a start-up real estate development company in 2008. A joint venture between global resort developer Orascom Development Holding and IFB Resort Developers, Rebecca joined Ancient Sands Golf Resort as Finance Director in 2008.
After spending nearly five years working on both the financial and operational sides of the business Rebecca was looking to use her entrepreneurial experience to start her own business. With a business idea in mind Rebecca decide to go to Judge Business School, Cambridge University, to read an MBA with the aim of meeting like-minded entrepreneurs and deepening her knowledge and contacts in the start-up space. When Spire Ventures approached Rebecca to join our investment team, the lure of a role that combined her startup and property experience with her love of tech was too good to resist. Therefore after her MBA Rebecca joined the Spire team in June 2013 and now heads up the venture capital division.
Rebecca focuses her time on seed stage and pre-series A investments in the property tech space as well as JV’s with property services businesses. She has also been instrumental in the successful launch of our property accelerator, Pi Labs, where she holds the role of Investment Director. Rebecca manages the deal process from start to finish from origination, due diligence, legal completion, and strategic development of the portfolio businesses and ultimately exit.
